Deputy Mayor An Hyodae Leads Delegation for "Expanding Foreign Investment Attraction"
Ulsan City is reaching out to Europe and the Middle East to foster new growth industries.
Ulsan City announced that it will dispatch an investment attraction delegation led by Deputy Mayor of Economy Ahn Hyo-dae from November 26 to December 3 to Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
This investment delegation will directly visit the overseas headquarters of companies located in the Ulsan region to express gratitude for their investments in the area, conduct new investment attraction negotiations, and promote Ulsan City's strategies such as fostering new growth industries and responding to the climate crisis.
As the first schedule, on the 27th, the delegation will visit BASF headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, hold an investment roundtable with the management for investment attraction, and tour the headquarters.
Next, on the 28th, they will visit Hamburg to discuss cooperation plans in the hydrogen and offshore wind power sectors with representatives of the Renewable Energy Association. They will also benchmark by touring Hamburg’s representative cultural and artistic facility, the Elbphilharmonie.
On the 29th, the delegation will move to London, UK, to visit INEOS, a joint venture company established by Lotte INEOS, hold an investment roundtable with officials, and persuade them for continuous investment.
They will also attend the London EV Show exhibition held from the 29th to 30th to observe leading technologies and trends in the EV market and meet with representatives of the UK Automotive Industry Association.
Finally, on December 1, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the delegation will visit the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) held at Dubai Expo City from November 30 to December 12, meet with officials from the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (ICLEI), and exchange opinions on local governments’ responses to the climate crisis.

Deputy Mayor of Economy Ahn Hyo-dae said, “Amid the global economic downturn, attracting new investment companies as well as new and additional investments from existing foreign-invested companies is important,” adding, “We will actively strive for the continuous business expansion of investment companies and the fostering of Ulsan City’s new growth engine industries.”
