Busan Gijang-gun, Jang-an Eup Administrative Welfare Center New Building Construction to Start in January Next Year
On the 24th, Busan's Gijang-gun announced that the new Jang-an-eup Administrative Welfare Center, a long-awaited project for the residents of Jang-an-eup, will begin construction in January 2024 and be completed by December 2025.
The current center, located in a residential area near Jwacheon-ro in Jang-an-eup, was built in 1989. It is severely aged, has limited space, and lacks sufficient facilities for administrative services and resident welfare programs, causing many inconveniences for the residents.
Accordingly, Gijang-gun is investing a total project cost of 22 billion KRW to build a new center with a total floor area of 3,942.84㎡, consisting of one basement floor and five above-ground floors, to provide residents with high-quality administrative, cultural, and welfare services.
Facilities for administrative services will be located on the first floor and part of the second floor, while from the second to the fifth floors, a complex facility offering diverse educational, cultural, and welfare services such as a residents' autonomy center, resident program rooms, a library, and a fitness room will be established.
In particular, the center’s space will be reorganized from focusing on administrative tasks to focusing on residents, welfare, and culture. Various programs to promote communication among residents will activate the resident network, and the establishment of community care will serve as a social safety net.
Additionally, eco-friendly and energy-efficient architectural techniques will be applied to minimize the budget required for maintenance and management of the center. Barrier-free design will be introduced within the center to ensure no inconvenience for the elderly and children.
