On the 24th, Jeong Cheol-won, chairman of Hyupsung General Construction, awarded the ‘Hyupsung Social Contribution Award’ to Ahn Byung-hoon, CEO of Giparang (left), at Dongsung Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, in recognition of his contributions to developing the Republic of Korea into a first-class democratic nation, and took a commemorative photo. CEO Ahn previously served as vice president of Chosun Ilbo and chairman of the Foundation for Unification and Sharing, and in 2005 founded the publishing company Giparang, releasing numerous outstanding books that accurately portray modern Korean history. The prize money is 50 million won. The Hyupsung Cultural Foundation was established in 2010 by Jeong Cheol-won, chairman of Hyupsung General Construction, a local construction company in Busan, to support social contribution and scholarship projects.
