Gyeonggi-do to Hold 'Civil Complaints Day' on 24th... Commendation for Meritorious Persons and Special Lectures
On the 24th, Gyeonggi Province held the '2nd Civil Complaints Day' commemorative event at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, attended by civil complaint officers from the province and city/counties. Civil Complaints Day was established as November 24th under Article 7-2 of the Civil Complaints Handling Act, meaning 'to serve each citizen 24 hours a day.'
At the event, Gyeonggi Province presented awards for this year's ▲Outstanding Cases of Civil Complaint Service Improvement Competition ▲Civil Complaints Day Meritorious Service Awards ▲Outstanding Civil Complaint Handling Public Officials Awards.
In the Civil Complaint Service Improvement Competition, out of 66 cases of civil complaint service improvement submitted from 24 cities/counties and 3 public institutions, 6 outstanding cases were carefully selected through expert evaluation and resident assessment.
The grand prize went to Namyangju City's establishment of a dedicated 'Immediate Response Team' for non-statutory roads. Namyangju City, which previously had no dedicated department causing delays and complaint ping-pong in handling maintenance complaints for non-statutory roads, became the first in Gyeonggi Province to establish a dedicated team that promptly and accurately handled inconvenience complaints on 4,300 km of non-statutory roads within the jurisdiction.
The Civil Complaints Day Meritorious Service Awards were given to 34 provincial and city/county public officials who contributed to resolving residents' inconveniences with a friendly and proactive attitude at the complaint sites. The Outstanding Civil Complaint Handling Public Officials Awards were presented to 4 provincial officials who achieved excellent results in handling complaints in various fields such as transportation, environment, and welfare.
