Wando-gun Marine Healing Center Opening D-1, Half-Price Admission Event Underway
"Healing with Marine Therapy in 16 Therapy Rooms Including Sea Water and Seaweed"
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, will open the country's first Marine Healing Center on the 24th, where various marine healing therapies can be performed using marine resources such as seawater, mudflats, and seaweed.
According to the county on the 23rd, the Wando Marine Healing Center, located at Sinji Myeongsasimni Beach, covers a total area of 7,740㎡ and is equipped with 16 healing therapy facilities using seawater, mud, seaweed, and more.
The first floor has five therapy rooms including a seawater pool and meditation pool, while the second floor has 11 specialized therapy rooms utilizing mud, seaweed, and includes a health measurement room.
At the representative facility of the Wando Marine Healing Center, the ‘Thalasso Pool,’ full-body relaxation, pain relief, and muscle pain alleviation can be achieved through hydrotherapy massages such as air bubbles and underwater Nordic walking.
The ‘Mud Therapy’ involves applying natural mud collected from Wando to the body, which helps with toxin elimination and skin improvement, while the ‘Seaweed Foam Therapy’ massages the skin with foamed nutrients from seaweed, aiding in skin regeneration and enhancement.
On the second floor, dry and wet programs such as seawater pools, steam showers, low-frequency therapy, and seaweed mud wrapping are available. After body shape analysis and skin condition measurement in the health measurement room, personalized programs can be recommended.
To commemorate the opening of the Wando Marine Healing Center, the county is holding an event until the end of the year where public facilities including the Marine Healing Center, marine cultural healing, and climate healing can be used at a 50% discount off the regular price.

The usage fee for the Wando Marine Healing Center (regular price) is 36,000 KRW for adults and 26,000 KRW for children for the basic program on the first floor. The premium program, which allows access to all 11 therapy rooms on the first and second floors, costs 125,000 KRW for adults and 80,000 KRW for children.
Reservations for the Marine Healing Center can be made by accessing ‘Wando Marine Healing’ at the top left of the Wando County Office website.
Programs on both the first and second floors can be purchased on-site or reserved in advance online, but since the number of users per therapy room on the second floor is limited, it is recommended to reserve online to reduce waiting time. Personal items such as swimsuits and rash guards can be used or rented.
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “I hope people experience marine healing directly in Wando and feel its effects,” adding, “We will do our best to make the Wando Marine Healing Center a hub facility for Korea’s marine healing industry and to promote the activation of the marine healing industry.”
