This eco-friendly travel campaign was promoted to raise environmental awareness among tourists visiting Jeju and to induce behavioral changes through an eco-friendly travel pledge, thereby spreading a carbon-neutral travel culture.
The campaign involves an event where participants can join the Jeju eco-friendly travel pledge via a QR code on-site and upload the pledge on SNS to receive an eco-friendly travel kit (including eco-friendly solid amenities, bamboo toothbrushes, etc.).
Meanwhile, to promote Jeju Airport’s resource circulation and eco-friendly activities, information is provided on a shared umbrella service that recycles donated umbrellas, a reusable cup and disposable cup return system, and a QR code-based mobile parking fee payment service.
Korea Airports Corporation and the other three organizations pledged to cooperate mutually to spread the carbon-neutral travel culture by making the eco-friendly travel pledge together.
A Jeju Airport official said, “We hope many people will participate in the campaign for a sustainable eco-friendly travel culture,” and added, “We promise to continue various ESG management activities to share the happy travel experiences felt in Jeju’s beautiful natural environment with future generations.”
