Green technology specialist company SP Biotech Co., Ltd. announced on the 23rd that it will hold a public demonstration on the 28th at Sincheon Farm in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, to commercialize the innovative livestock manure treatment technology called 'non-separated rapid fermentation of pig manure.'
This technology was developed and established by SP Biotech Co., Ltd., which holds green technology and green technology product certifications from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) certification, and various eco-friendly patents after long-term research. It processes pig manure without solid-liquid separation (separating the liquid present in the manure from solid particles by size and weight) using a non-dilution wastewater zero-discharge system. In the process, the fermentation product obtained is used to produce eco-friendly fertilizer (compost) through a state-of-the-art method. It has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Environment (Technology Notification No. 91-62) and has also obtained patents for the manufacturing method and apparatus.
Last August, a demonstration was held at a 'commercial 10-ton' facility, proving the technology and method. With the commercialization of the non-separated rapid fermentation technology for pig manure, livestock farms are expected to process manure stably and at low cost. Environmental pollution caused by livestock manure is also expected to be drastically reduced. Accordingly, the Korea Environment Corporation selected this technology for the 'Win-Win Cooperation Demonstration Program Support Project.'
The raw manure, which has a moisture content of about 90-95%, is rapidly fermented without undergoing the solid-liquid separation process that separates it into liquid and solid. The current domestic livestock manure treatment methods mostly involve composting, liquid fertilizer production, and purification treatment. These are recognized as the main causes of environmental pollution such as water and soil contamination due to odor, wastewater, and fine dust.
Lee Young-joo, CEO of SP Biotech Co., Ltd., said, "If the fermented livestock manure treatment technology is applied to public and joint resource treatment plants established under government policies and individual treatment projects targeting livestock farms, it will not only enable stable treatment of livestock manure but also contribute to creating local jobs, regional economic development, and national competitiveness." He added, "We plan to begin full-scale equipment distribution to livestock farms starting at the end of this year."
