On the 21st, major foreign media posted a video titled "A woman walking a fish on a wet road in China" on their official Facebook page. The video was filmed last October in Guangdong Province, China.
In the video, a woman wearing a red umbrella crosses a crosswalk on a rainy day. She is holding a leash in her right hand, but the controversy arises because the leashed animal is not a typical dog or common pet, but a fish.
The fish, presumed to be a catfish, sways its tail and head from side to side as it slides across the wet crosswalk. Upon reaching the end of the crosswalk, it can be seen flicking water with its tail. The catfish appears to be barely breathing in the rainwater on the road.
