Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation Releases First Double-Sided High-Relief Medal for the Year of the Rabbit
Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) has released a double-sided high-relief medal themed on rabbits. This is the first case where high relief has been applied to both the front and back sides, and the limited edition sale enhances the medal's collectible value.
On the 22nd, KOMSCO announced the release of the double-sided high-relief "Rabbit" commemorative medal.
Unlike the commonly used flat-surfaced medals, this medal features a high depth applied to the surface, enhancing its three-dimensional effect.
Until now, high-relief technology was mainly applied to only one side of a medal. However, this time, high-relief technology was applied to both sides, with the front side depicting the front of the rabbit and the back side showing the rabbit’s rear in a three-dimensional manner, according to KOMSCO.
The back of the medal includes the inscription "2023 YEAR OF RABBIT" along with KOMSCO’s name and hallmark, enhancing the product’s trustworthiness and dignity.
In particular, the antique finish treatment adds to the rabbit’s three-dimensional feel, and the product is designed so that it can actually be touched.
The commemorative medal is made of pure silver (Ag·99.9%) with a weight of 37.5g, and is limited to 500 pieces. The sale price (including VAT) is 187,000 KRW, and it can be purchased from the KOMSCO online shopping mall and the Orot and Diwum centers starting from the 22nd.
