Employees of Dongwon Industries and families of seafarers participate in this event to deliver homemade kimchi to Dongwon seafarers working in oceans around the world. Since its inception in 2013, the event has been held annually except during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, a total of about 600 employees and seafarers' family members have participated.
This year’s event took place at the Dongwon F&B Jincheon Factory located in Jincheon, Chungbuk. About 60 employees and families of maritime staff made a total of 600 heads of kimchi. Letters written by the families were enclosed in the kimchi containers to convey love and gratitude to the seafarers working at sea.
The kimchi made this time is expected to be delivered to the seafarers via cargo ships as early as next month.
