From November 17 to December 22, Over 450 Single-Person Households Gather for Multi-Group Events to Add Vitality to Daily Life
Lectures by Novelist Kim Young-ha and YouTuber Jung Sung-kwon, Plus Tennis, Wine, and Styling Classes
Supporting Single-Person Households in Various Ways to Strengthen Social Networks and Promote Healthy, Happy Lives
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will operate the ‘Yeongdeungpo Single-Person Household Multi-Meetings’ to strengthen the social networks of single-person households and improve their quality of life.
The Yeongdeungpo Single-Person Household Multi-Meetings will be held from November 17 to December 22 for about 450 single-person households residing or living in Yeongdeungpo-gu. The program consists of ▲Together Single-Person Households (empathy, communication) ▲Healthy Single-Person Households (exercise) ▲Happy Single-Person Households (relationship building) to add vitality to the daily lives of single-person households.
‘Together Single-Person Households’ features special invited lectures by ‘Novelist Kim Young-ha’ and ‘YouTuber Jachwi-nam Jeong Seong-kwon’ at B&Partners Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station branch, with 200 attendees per lecture.
On December 1, ‘Novelist Kim Young-ha,’ known for works such as Memoir of a Murderer and Black Flower, and active in various broadcasts communicating with the public, will open the lecture series. Author Kim Young-ha will talk about ‘Empathy, Communication, and Stories,’ explaining how novels, movies, and other narratives expand human empathy and enable deep-level communication.
On December 8, attendees can meet the popular ‘YouTuber Jachwi-nam Jeong Seong-kwon,’ who has 650,000 subscribers with content related to living alone. YouTuber Jeong Seong-kwon will deliver a lecture titled ‘Single-Person Household Empathy Talk (Talk),’ sharing messages for becoming a better self based on his experience interviewing over 500 single-person household residents over two years about trends and lifestyles.
‘Healthy Single-Person Households’ offers a ‘Tennis Class’ where participants can learn tennis, a sport recently favored by the MZ generation. The classes will be held on November 17 and 24, and December 15 and 22 at Seoul Tennis, for 20 people (5 per session, 4 sessions total). Participants will learn tennis basics such as how to hold a racket and swing practice, promoting healthy physical activity.
‘Happy Single-Person Households’ provides relationship-building classes to strengthen the social networks of single-person households at the Local Motive Lounge. On November 17, a ‘Wine Class’ for 15 people will offer experiences such as wine history, tasting sessions, and how to choose wine. On November 23, a ‘Styling Class’ for 20 people will help participants learn about personal colors, patterns, and materials that suit them well.
