Israel donates X profits to both sides in Gaza
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, announced on the 21st (local time) that he will donate all revenue from content related to the Gaza Strip war on the social networking service (SNS) X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, to the affected region.

Musk posted on his X account that day, "The X corporation will donate all advertising and subscription revenue related to the Gaza Strip war to Israeli hospitals and the Red Cross and Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip. Humanity comes first." This means he intends to donate X's revenue to both sides amid the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas.
Musk's decision is interpreted as a response to recent controversies over anti-Semitism and criticism that X is spreading more fake news related to the Israel-Hamas war compared to other SNS platforms.
Earlier, on the 15th, Musk faced strong backlash after commenting "You spoke the actual truth" on an X post related to an 'anti-Semitic conspiracy theory' claiming that the Jewish community incites hatred among white people. The Jewish community's opposition was accompanied by an official statement from the White House criticizing Musk's remark.
On the 17th, Media Matters, a progressive media watchdog group, released a report stating that major brand advertisements on the X platform were placed next to pro-Nazi posts. Following this, IBM, Disney, Apple, Warner Bros. Discovery, Comcast, Paramount Global, Lionsgate, and others decided to suspend advertising on X. Some Tesla shareholders demanded that Musk step down as CEO temporarily, arguing that hate speech cannot be tolerated.
