The Promotion Team is led by Vice Superintendent Park Juyong as the head, with Director of Education Kim Sook serving as deputy head. Members include representatives from the Office of Education’s early childhood education department and Jeonbuk Provincial Government’s infant and toddler care department.
The first meeting included ▲ guidance on the Ministry of Education’s unified management system plan ▲ briefing on the Promotion Team’s tasks for local government work transfer ▲ report on the 2023 integrated kindergarten and daycare pilot education office project results ▲ and discussions by working subcommittees.
The Promotion Team will analyze the tasks to be transferred from local governments to the Office of Education and determine the scale of personnel required to perform these tasks after integration.
They will identify national government matching investments and local government projects to decide on the scope and whether to transfer them, and will address any difficulties related to the transfer by devising solutions.
Starting January 1 next year, a new ‘Integrated Kindergarten and Daycare Team’ will be established to begin these operations.
Vice Superintendent Park Juyong stated, "There may be challenges and difficulties that hinder progress as we embark on the uncharted path of integration. I ask for your role as a focal point to ensure smooth local government work transfer by uniting efforts for the development and future of Jeonbuk."
