KOTRA Supports Export of Materials, Parts, and Equipment at German Machine Tool Exhibition
Korea Machine Tool Industry Association Co-Operates Korea Tool Industry Cooperative and Korea Pavilion
KOTRA announced on the 21st that it operated the Korean Pavilion with the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association and the Korea Hand Tool Industrial Cooperative at the '2023 EMO Hannover' held from September 18 to 23.
This exhibition focused intensively on the themes of ▲automation ▲connectivity ▲sustainability under the slogan of 'Manufacturing Innovation.' In particular, automation technologies utilizing industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and open data exchange, which address the shortage of skilled labor in industrial sites, attracted attention.
The Korean Pavilion booth, consisting of a total of 26 companies, was operated at the '2023 Germany Hannover Machine Tool Exhibition (EMO 2023)' held last September. KOTRA jointly operated the Korean Pavilion with the Korea Machine Tool Industry Association and the Korea Tool Industry Cooperative. /
The 26 companies participating in the Korean Pavilion showcased innovative products emphasizing smart IoT technology applied to machine tools and the latest measuring instruments. During the exhibition, over 760 B2B (business-to-business) consultations were conducted, resulting in a total consultation amount of 17 million USD with buyers, and contracts signed on-site amounted to 320,000 USD.
KOTRA attracted buyers from Europe, including Germany, and arranged consultations to enable effective marketing for the Korean Pavilion participants. Digital marketing efforts included launching 'Online EMO 2023' on the BuyKorea website to allow easy access to the participating companies' products at a glance.

Jung Won-jun, Director of KOTRA's Exhibition & Convention Office, said, "We are doing our best to support the exports of our companies through collaborative exhibitions with materials, parts, and equipment-related associations," adding, "Considering that due to the nature of machinery and equipment, a considerable amount of time is required from participation to export, we will strengthen the post-support process and strive to generate exports."
