70s Foraging Mushrooms on Hillside Fall off Cliff... Rescued About an Hour After Report
A man in his 70s who was picking mushrooms in a mountain area went missing after falling off a cliff but was rescued about an hour after the report was made.
According to Namhae Police Station on the 20th, a report was received on the 19th at around 1:35 p.m. that a man in his 70s, Mr. A, was missing.
Mr. A's spouse reported him missing after he left home around 9:25 a.m. to pick mushrooms in a nearby mountain area in Mijo-myeon, Namhae-gun, but did not return home and could not be contacted.
Rescue workers are carrying a person who fell from the mountain on a stretcher.

The police, together with the fire department, tracked Mr. A's cellphone location and began a search, finding him below the cliff at around 2:50 p.m. that day.
It was determined that Mr. A slipped while trying to pick mushrooms attached to rocks near the summit and fell about 4 meters down the cliff. When found, he was unconscious with broken ribs and pelvis.

Mr. A was immediately taken to the hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
