President Yoon Suk-yeol congratulated T1, the winner of the '2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship' (Worlds), on the 20th.
On the morning of the same day, President Yoon posted on Facebook, "I sincerely congratulate T1 on winning the Worlds for the first time in seven years and their fourth Worlds championship."
President Yoon expressed his gratitude, saying, "Following the acquisition of four medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where e-sports was officially included as a medal event for the first time, this victory once again showcased our country's reputation as the birthplace of e-sports to the world. Earlier, T1 won the Worlds final held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul the previous day, defeating China's Weibo Gaming. This marks their first championship in seven years since their wins in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
