'Web Summit' Korea Joint Pavilion Facilitates 210 Business Meetings

Created $8.58 Million in Consultation Revenue by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and KOCCA
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 20th that they operated a Korean joint pavilion at 'Web Summit 2023,' held in Lisbon, Portugal for four days starting from the 13th, facilitating 210 business consultations and generating consultation amounts of 8.58 million USD (approximately 11.154 billion KRW). Web Summit is the world's largest startup and technology conference. This year, various programs were conducted under the theme of modern technology and the startup industry, exploring the future of the upcoming technology industry.
The event was attended by over 900 investment firms from about 150 countries, 2,600 startups, and 300 partner companies. Approximately 70,000 visitors visited the startup booths to check global technology and business trends. The Korea Creative Content Agency operated the Korean joint pavilion, showcasing the technological capabilities of Stella Music, Bitsum One, Plume.D, Wayne Hills Bryant A.I, and others. A representative from the agency stated, "We were able to explore cooperation opportunities through various business meetings," adding, "In particular, Plume.D received high attention, with visitors including directors from the LVMH Group." Plume.D is a company that possesses rendering technology for virtual humans that mimic users' actions and facial expressions in real time.

The companies participating in the Korean joint pavilion were also invited to a networking reception event hosted by the Luxembourg Embassy in Portugal and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. They met with the external cooperation officer of the Saudi Arabian Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat) to explore future cooperation, including expansion into the Middle East. A representative from the Korea Creative Content Agency explained, "In the case of Wayne Hills Bryant A.I, they participated in an event organized by the Finnish Embassy, fostering various cooperative relationships such as support." Wayne Hills Bryant A.I is a company that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically produce videos from text or voice data.
