The Carter Center announced in a statement that Rosalynn Carter peacefully passed away at her home in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by her family.
Rosalynn Carter had been battling dementia since being diagnosed in May and had been receiving hospice care at home. Hospice care typically provides comprehensive support and treatment for those with terminal illnesses.
