Israeli Forces Issue Evacuation Order for Al-Sifa Hospital, Suspected Hamas Headquarters
Israeli forces have issued an evacuation order for Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest medical facility in the Gaza Strip, according to major foreign news outlets on the 18th (local time).
The Israeli military has suspected that Hamas's headquarters are located underground at Al-Shifa Hospital and has been deploying troops to conduct search operations since the 15th. Subsequently, the Israeli forces revealed spaces used as Hamas's operational headquarters, concealed weapons, and entrances to Hamas's underground tunnels within the hospital premises.
The Israeli military claimed to have found the bodies of two hostages who had been taken by armed Hamas militants near the hospital, asserting this as evidence that Hamas militarily utilized the hospital. It is reported that thousands of patients, medical staff, and refugees who have not yet evacuated remain in the hospital.
