Prime Minister Han Duck-soo apologized to the public regarding the government administrative network outage and stated on the 18th that there would be no disadvantages to the citizens.
On the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Han presided over a video conference with related ministries at the Government Seoul Office and said, "I apologize for the inconvenience and confusion experienced by many citizens due to the suspension of public services caused by the government administrative network failure yesterday."
He continued, "This incident clearly shows what kind of inconvenience and confusion can occur if digital systems do not operate perfectly," and added, "Currently, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, along with private experts, is making every effort to restore the system, and we will do our best to normalize it as soon as possible."
Prime Minister Han instructed related ministries and agencies to "swiftly identify the cause and work with utmost determination to prevent such incidents from happening again," and urged local governments nationwide to "continue operating manual civil complaint reception systems until the system is restored and maintain emergency work systems for related public officials."
