Seongsan Fire Station, "Citizens Please Follow Safety Rules When Handling Butane Gas"
Seongsan Fire Station in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, announced safety guidelines for handling butane gas, which is frequently used in daily life, due to frequent fire and explosion accidents caused by its use.
On the 16th at 12:33 PM, a butane gas explosion and burns caused casualties and property damage at an apartment shopping area in Namyang-dong, Seongsan-gu.
In response, the fire station urged people to follow safety rules when handling butane gas to prevent explosion accidents.
First, do not connect two portable gas burners for use or use a grill larger than the gas burner, and do not heat the gas container or forcibly ignite the portable burner with a lighter to use the remaining gas.
Also, used butane gas containers must be ventilated well, punctured with an awl to release any remaining gas, and then disposed of separately. Special caution is required to avoid using gas burners in small enclosed spaces such as tents.
