Jeonnam Fire Department Conducts 'Fire Safety Inspection' of High-Rise Buildings in the Province
Joint Civilian Experts... Focus on Firefighting Facility Management for Winter Preparation
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) is conducting a fire safety inspection of high-rise buildings (priority management targets) in the province in preparation for the winter season.
According to Jeonnam Fire on the 16th, this fire safety inspection was initiated to strengthen comprehensive safety management for high-rise buildings where large-scale casualties and property damage are feared in the event of a fire. A joint safety inspection will be conducted with private experts in electricity, architecture, and gas.
There are a total of 10 high-rise building sites (31 buildings) in the province: 3 sites (8 buildings) in Mokpo, 1 site (4 buildings) in Yeosu, 2 sites (13 buildings) in Suncheon, 1 site (1 building) in Naju, 2 sites (3 buildings) in Gwangyang, and 1 site (2 buildings) in Hwasun.
The inspection will focus on ▲ the proper operation and maintenance status of firefighting facilities ▲ matters related to the performance of fire safety management duties ▲ unauthorized changes of use, evacuation, fire prevention facilities, fire compartments, and other building law standards ▲ various matters related to facility standards and safety management in the electrical and gas sectors.
