Kyungdong Navien Ships 'Condensing Hydro Furnace' to US Market for the First Time
Full-Scale Entry into the North American Heating Market
Kyungdong Navien announced that it shipped its 'Condensing Hydro Furnace' to the U.S. market for the first time on the 13th local time. Through this, in addition to the condensing water heaters and boilers currently leading the market, it has entered the North American main heating market, the 'Furnace.'
The furnace, the main heating method in the North American region, has a market size of 4.7 million units annually, which is more than five times that of the condensing water heater market. It heats air with high-temperature combustion exhaust gases and supplies it indoors, similar to the heating method used in large accommodations such as hotels in Korea. Unlike boilers that heat the floor with hot water, it directly heats the air, making it very dry and causing large indoor temperature variations, which reduces heating comfort. There is also a risk of harmful gases entering indoors through the air due to incomplete combustion.
The 'Condensing Hydro Furnace' shipped by Kyungdong Navien this time is a premium product that solves these problems. It first heats water and uses it to warm the air supplied indoors, so the air is not dry. In particular, it provides more stable heating by precisely controlling the indoor temperature through water temperature adjustment. It also prevents harmful gases from entering indoors by separating the boiler and blower sections. Additionally, it applies a low-vibration design to reduce noise.
The application of 'condensing' technology, which offers high energy efficiency, is also a differentiating factor. It is effective in reducing nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide, and Kyungdong Navien expects it to receive great response in the U.S., where environmental policies are being strengthened. According to the industry, as of 2020, the market ratio of conventional furnaces to condensing furnaces is about 6 to 4, but the share of condensing furnaces is continuously increasing.
Kyungdong Navien plans to strengthen its North American heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market strategy by launching a 'heat pump' equipped with the latest inverter compressor in addition to the Condensing Hydro Furnace. In connection with the Condensing Hydro Furnace, it will provide integrated HVAC services such as heating in winter and cooling in summer.
