Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 16th that it has been ranked first in the automotive company sector for eight consecutive years in the "2023 China Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index Evaluation" released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index is considered the most authoritative indicator related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China. In this evaluation, Hyundai Motor Group was highly praised for strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management in China and continuously engaging in social contribution activities. Earlier, in 2021, the company developed ESG evaluation standards tailored to local conditions. Using these standards, it assessed major local subsidiaries such as Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis, and Hyundai Wia.
Since 2008, the company has been carrying out the Hyundai Green Zone Project for 15 years to prevent desertification in Inner Mongolia. This year, in August, employees participated in volunteer activities including a public grassland and forest donation ceremony and building eco-friendly guesthouses by renovating abandoned houses. In Beijing, the company opened a Youth Startup Support Center in 2020 to support early-stage companies that contribute to solving local social issues. It also provides teaching materials and scholarships to elementary school students in underdeveloped areas and organizes summer camps for children with cerebral palsy.
