HiteJinro Launches Italian Pet-Nat Wine 'Claudio Plessi'
Native Grape Varieties Cultivated in Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Grapes Harvested from Trees Averaging Over 20 Years Old
HiteJinro announced on the 16th that it will launch four types of pet nat wines from the Italian winery ‘Claudio Plessi,’ which is dedicated to organic farming.
Pet nat is short for P?tillant Naturel, a French term meaning ‘natural bubbles.’ It is a natural sparkling wine made by bottling wine during fermentation, creating soft bubbles inside the bottle.
Claudio Plessi, the owner of the winery, is regarded as a pioneer in organic and biodynamic farming in the Emilia region of Italy. Since the age of 18, he has studied vineyards and grape varieties, established an organic & biodynamic farming cooperative in 1986, converted his vineyards to organic farming in 1993, and obtained organic certification.
The four pet nat wines launched by HiteJinro are made from different indigenous grape varieties cultivated using organic farming methods in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, offering a unique taste experience never before encountered. In particular, grapes harvested from vines averaging over 20 years old are used, and after bottling, a secondary fermentation occurs, allowing for a smooth mouthfeel with natural carbonation.
‘Claudio Plessi, Tarbianein,’ which captures the purity of nature, is a natural pet nat wine made from 100% Trebbiano grapes, featuring a pumpkin color filled with lemon and orange fruit flavors and floral aromas. ‘Claudio Plessi Muntanera’ is made from 100% Uva Tosca grapes, characterized by rich cherry and strawberry flavors that envelop the palate, with gentle and fine bubbles rising.
‘Claudio Plessi, Lambruscaun’ is made from 100% Lambrusco del Pellegrino grapes, offering a well-balanced structure with harmonious minerals, tannins, and acidity. ‘Claudio Plessi, Tiepido’ is made from 100% Lambrusco Grasparossa grapes and has a deep ruby color. It features red fruit flavors like cherry and plum, combined with acidity and subtle bubbles, providing a pleasant freshness until the last sip.
