Shinsegae Inter launches global eco-friendly brand 'Pangaia'
Eco-Friendly Fashion Brand Created by Scientists, Engineers, and Designers

Shinsegae International announced on the 16th that it has signed an exclusive domestic distribution agreement with the global eco-friendly brand ‘PANGAIA’ and will start selling products through its own digital platform SI Village from the 20th of this month.
PANGAIA, launched in the UK in 2018, is a brand that brings together scientists, engineers, and designers from around the world with the core mission of creating products that offer a positive future for the Earth's environment. The brand name combines the Greek word "Pan," meaning all races and continents, and "Gaia," the mother of the Earth in Greek mythology. The brand is described as a "material science company" with a mission to protect the environment.
All PANGAIA products are created through proprietary scientific technology and research and development, with each product born to address environmental issues in the industry. The brand focuses on developing natural materials that can replace animal-based materials and petroleum-based synthetic materials, which are major contributors to environmental pollution. Additionally, PANGAIA strives to complete a sustainable circular system to minimize resource consumption through regeneration and recycling.
Beyond protecting the environment during the production process, PANGAIA emphasizes design and durability to ensure that high-quality, well-fitting products can be used for a long time instead of quickly consumed trendy items. After use, efforts are made to ensure products can return to nature as much as possible through biodegradability, compostability, and recycling.
At launch, PANGAIA offers a range of products including globally popular loungewear such as the 365 Hoodie, track pants, and sweatshirts, activewear like sports bra tops and leggings, outerwear including padding and denim jackets, and fashion accessories such as tote bags and backpacks. Each product features sentences describing the materials used and the purpose of production, which has become a distinctive design detail unique to PANGAIA.
To celebrate the brand launch, PANGAIA will operate a pop-up store at Boon the Shop Cheongdam Case Study from the 17th to the 29th. From the 20th, products will be available through SI Village, and plans are underway to open standalone stores in major department stores nationwide.
