OCI Holdings to Promote Marine Ecosystem Conservation Project in Gunsan, Jeonbuk

OCI Holdings announced on the 10th that it has signed a multilateral business agreement for marine biodiversity conservation projects together with its subsidiaries OCI and OCI SE, Gunsan City Hall, and Gunsan University.
OCI Holdings, along with its subsidiaries OCI and OCI SE, will promote various activities to preserve the marine ecosystem near the Jeonbuk region and secure biodiversity. In collaboration with Gunsan University, which operates marine ecosystem-related educational programs, they plan to provide experiential education programs to Jeonbuk citizens to spread positive awareness about marine environmental conservation.
Additionally, OCI Holdings will conduct in-house education on biodiversity conservation for all employees of the group companies throughout December and run an internal campaign introducing endangered species in the Gunsan area. As part of the internal campaign, in December, employees and their families from subsidiaries such as OCI, OCI SE, and OCI Power will also participate in the marine ecosystem diversity program hosted by the Science Gifted Education Center at Gunsan University.

Jung Kang-mo, Director of the Science Gifted Education Center at Gunsan University, said, “This agreement is a meaningful first step for securing marine biodiversity in the Gunsan area through cooperation among industry, government, and academia. Based on the rich educational infrastructure and program execution experience of the Science Gifted Education Center at Gunsan University, we believe this experiential activity can be successfully completed.”
