CJ OliveNetworks Hosts 'SW Creativity Camp' for Incheon Youth
CJ OliveNetworks announced on the 14th that it will conduct a one-day program of the 'CJ SW Creative Camp' for middle and high school students in Incheon.
The CJ SW Creative Camp is CJ OliveNetworks' flagship social contribution activity that supports software (SW) coding education for youth to bridge educational gaps by region. It started in 2015 and has involved over 10,000 participants to date.
The one-day SW Creative Camp program held this month is linked with the K-Digital Platform and offers a tailored curriculum: an artificial intelligence (AI) native course for high school students and a block coding course using Lego for middle school students.
Students will experience implementing the latest technologies and trends such as smart mobility and smart factories, and also have time to concretize their ideas through a mini hackathon process.
To contribute to digital transformation and talent development in the Incheon area, CJ OliveNetworks established the K-Digital Platform in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, in June. The site currently operates the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s K-Digital Training project called 'Cloud Wave.' The first cohort of 26 students received a total of 400 hours of specialized cloud education, and three outstanding graduates participated in internships at the CJ Cloud Center.
Going forward, CJ OliveNetworks plans to provide regionally tailored digital education including ▲regular operation of Cloud Wave training ▲hosting meetings with IT major university students and IT company employees ▲operating SW Creative Camps for elementary students in Incheon ▲senior digital learning ▲and tours of the CJ Cloud Center.
Han So-young, Superintendent of AI Convergence Education at the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "We hope the cooperation between the two organizations will serve as a foundation for creating a better world, and we will continue to collaborate."
