Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Labor Union Volunteers for Thorough House Cleaning at Low-Income Households in Muan County

Winter Blanket Donation of 50 Sets and Over 20 Years of Social Contribution Efforts

Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 13th that on the 12th, the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Workplace Council (Chairman Hong Seung-cheol) visited two low-income households and carried out a major cleaning volunteer activity.

The Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Workplace Council consists of about 460 employees working at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, and since its establishment over 20 years ago, it has been practicing various social contribution activities such as repairing houses for marginalized groups, providing daily necessities, and helping local farms with labor.

On that day, the volunteer activity was jointly participated by Muan-eup, the Muan County Social Welfare Council, and the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Workplace Council. More than 20 members of the Workplace Council, including Executive Director Kim Hwan-gyu of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, gave up their holiday and worked hard to help create a clean and pleasant home for the elderly.

Chairman Hong Seung-cheol said, “While volunteering, I realized that there are many people living in real hardship in places that do not catch our eyes,” and added, “We will continue to lead various activities for marginalized groups and become an organization that takes the lead in social contribution in the local community.”

Governor Kim San said, “I am truly grateful for volunteering like this even on holidays,” and stated, “The county will do its best to spread the culture of volunteering widely in the local community.”
