Pernod Ricard Launches Irish Whiskey 'Redbreast 15 Years'
Pernod Ricard Korea announced on the 13th that it is officially expanding into the non-Scotch whiskey market with the launch of 'Redbreast 15YO,' an Irish whiskey featuring the unique distillation method of 'Single Pot Still Whiskey.'
Redbreast is a representative Irish whiskey brand that adheres to the traditional whiskey-making method of Single Pot Still, which has been passed down since the 1800s. Single Pot Still Whiskey is a unique Irish whiskey distillation method that blends unmalted raw barley with malted barley and distills the mixture three times in a copper pot still, resulting in a distinctive smoothness and complex flavor profile.
Pernod Ricard Korea expanded its lineup to include Redbreast 15YO just one year after launching Redbreast 12YO last year. The new Redbreast 15YO is crafted using the Single Pot Still method and is made from carefully selected distillates aged for a minimum of 15 years in premium bourbon casks and sherry casks.
In particular, by using both first-fill and refill casks, the master blender’s delicate blending allows consumers to experience Redbreast’s signature perfect balance and complex flavors simultaneously. It offers fragrant berry fruit aromas, a complex yet balanced scent, and a soft mouthfeel filled with subtle spices and oak notes that deliver a long and refined finish.
To commemorate the domestic launch of Redbreast 15YO, Billy Leighton, Redbreast’s Master Blender, who visited Korea, said, “The Korean whiskey market has shown remarkable growth in recent years and is one of the markets attracting global attention. As Redbreast is a brand that has upheld the long-standing tradition at the core of Irish whiskey, I hope it will inspire Korean consumers who are not afraid to explore new experiences.”
