[Concall] NCSoft Says Integrating Blockchain Games Is 'Premature'
Hong Won-jun, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of NCSoft, stated during the 2023 Q3 earnings conference call on the 9th, "We have never officially said that we are discontinuing blockchain," but added, "There is a common misunderstanding in Korea that blockchain games are equated with P2E, but we have repeatedly emphasized that blockchain games are absolutely not P2E."
He continued, "The point at which blockchain is integrated into games requires the assumption that the balance within the game, the balance of the game economy, can be stabilized," and said, "Both the in-game balance and the balance of the blockchain itself connected to it must be secured for blockchain to be introduced into the game and for the economic system to function."
