“Love Kimchi Sharing Festival” with Companies Held ... Busan's Largest Kimchi Sharing Event
The largest scale of loving hands in Busan continues for the 13th time!
On the 10th at 9 a.m., Busan City will hold the ‘2023 Love Kimchi Sharing Festival’ at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2.
The ‘Love Kimchi Sharing Festival’ is jointly hosted by the Busan Volunteer Center (Director Park Kyung-ok), the Busan Volunteer Center Council, and BEXCO. This year marks the 13th edition of Busan’s largest kimchi sharing event.
This year, 32 companies, institutions, and organizations donated over 153 million KRW. About 1,000 participants including Mayor Park Hyung-joon, representatives of sponsoring organizations, corporate volunteer groups, and general volunteers will mix and package approximately 10,000 heads of kimchi weighing 23 tons.
Once packaging is complete, 5 kg of kimchi will be delivered to each of the approximately 4,700 vulnerable households throughout Busan.
Also, the 1,000 participants gathered on the day will perform a unified performance praying for the ‘successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo’ and the ‘successful hosting of the 27th Busan World Volunteer Conference in 2024.’
The ‘27th Busan World Volunteer Conference,’ held for the first time in 22 years since Seoul in 2002, is the world’s largest volunteer event with about 1,400 participants from over 80 countries, taking place for four days from October 22, 2024, at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.
