Doosan Bobcat Opens New Factory in Monterrey, Mexico... "Response to North America"
400 Billion KRW Investment... 20% Increase in Loader Production Capacity for North America
Doosan Bobcat is establishing a new production base in Mexico and expanding its manufacturing capacity to respond to the increasing demand for construction equipment in the North American market.
On the 8th, Doosan Bobcat announced that it will invest approximately 400 billion KRW (300 million USD) to build a new factory in the Monterrey area of Nuevo Le?n, Mexico.
The new Doosan Bobcat Monterrey plant will cover about 65,000㎡ (20,000 pyeong) and will produce the company’s flagship ‘M-Series’ loaders to supply the North American region. The Gwinner plant in North Dakota, USA, which currently produces this product, will focus on manufacturing the premium ‘R-Series’ loaders.
The Monterrey plant is scheduled to be completed and start operations in early 2026. With the new plant’s operation and efficiency improvements in existing manufacturing processes, the production capacity of Doosan Bobcat loaders sold in North America is expected to increase by about 20% compared to now. This will enable a more agile response to market demand.
Scott Park, Vice Chairman of Doosan Bobcat, said, “Over the past five years, the company’s size has doubled through rapid growth, and product demand has continuously increased. Expanding production capacity through establishing a new base is a stepping stone for long-term growth.”
With the Monterrey plant, Doosan Bobcat will expand its production bases to eight countries, including Korea, the USA, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, China, and now Mexico.
Monterrey, a representative industrial city in Mexico, offers abundant labor and competitive labor costs. Located near the US border, Monterrey also benefits from tariff-free advantages under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
