Lee Won-wook: "Lee Jun-seok's hate politics divides... I won't join a new party"
"If Lee Jun-seok receives proportional representation spots 1 and 2, the party will shrink"
Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok, who is reportedly pushing for the establishment of a new party, revealed that he met with non-Myeong faction figures, drawing attention to whether the non-Myeong faction will join. However, Lee Won-wook, a key non-Myeong faction member and Democratic Party lawmaker, drew a clear line, saying, "Even if a new party is formed, it is unlikely that it will be with former leader Lee."
On the 8th, Lee said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "Former leader Lee is also someone who bases his politics on hate politics," explaining his stance.

He continued, "The reformist lawmakers of the Democratic Party are thinking about how to achieve politics of national unity and create a political atmosphere trusted by the people," and said, "Because the purpose, attitude, and means are completely different, I see almost no possibility that former leader Lee will join a new party."
Regarding the possibility of forming a new party, he said, "It cannot be said to be 100% pessimistic, but it seems to be tied to the election law," adding, "If the election law is revised to maintain the current semi-proportional representation system, allowing multiple proportional representation parties to emerge, former leader Lee could probably secure some seats, maybe around 5%. The current threshold clause is probably 3%. He could gain a few seats from there."
The problem is that it is not appropriate for former leader Lee himself to run as a proportional representative in the 'Lee Jun-seok new party.' He pointed out, "If the 'Lee Jun-seok new party' is formed, it is also not right for him to run as a proportional representative," adding, "Even if he goes as a proportional representative, he should, for example, be placed fifth on the list and ask for more votes from us, but if he takes the first or second spot and goes in a safe position, the new party could suddenly shrink."
Regarding the controversy over former leader Lee shouting "Be quiet" in response to People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo's 'racism' accusation at a restaurant near the National Assembly the day before, Lee said, "Generally, when we are at a restaurant and there are other groups in the next room, sometimes you can hear people cursing, and then you say 'Be quiet, let's hear what they are talking about,' and things like that," but added, "However, you don't express it by saying 'Hey, what's wrong with you?' right there."

Lee said, "People think, 'Oh, that person is really like that.' Then they realize they might have been wrong in some ways and take it as an opportunity for self-reflection. They move on. They don't just shout on the spot," and added, "That is exactly former leader Lee's hate politics, his rude politics."
