Gyeonggi-do, Food Service Industry Food Poisoning Prevention 'Hygiene Inspection and Promotion'
Gyeonggi Province is launching hygiene inspections of food service establishments.
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will conduct hygiene inspections and promotional activities to prevent food poisoning at 1,350 food service businesses across the province until December 8.
To this end, Gyeonggi Province will deploy a total of 18 teams of 'Consumer Food Hygiene Inspectors,' each consisting of two experts with specialized knowledge in food hygiene, to carry out inspection and promotional activities targeting food service businesses in 14 areas including Suwon City.
The inspections will focus mainly on food handling establishments with small business sizes and those that find it difficult to comply with hygienic handling standards for food. The hygiene checks will cover cleanliness of kitchens and dining areas, proper operation of freezing and refrigeration equipment, use of products past their expiration dates, and compliance with hygiene management by workers.
Educational materials on preventing food poisoning caused by norovirus in winter, actions to take if it occurs, and the six major rules for food poisoning prevention will be distributed, along with tailored advice.
