Busan Gijang-gun Reopens 'Yongso Wellbeing Park'
Busan Gijang-gun will reopen Yongso Wellbeing Park, which had been closed since May for facility refurbishment, starting from the 14th.
Yongso Wellbeing Park is a waterfront space created by starting a park development project in 2008 on Yongso Reservoir, which was discontinued for agricultural water use.
The park has been loved as a resting place for local residents and was designated as a neighborhood park in 2020, establishing itself as a representative park in the area visited by many tourists as well as Gijang residents.
However, since more than 15 years have passed since the installation of facilities such as the natural wood walking trail, safety concerns arose, and the need for refurbishment of aging facilities was raised. Therefore, the county decided to suspend park operations in May and carried out maintenance work with a budget of over 2 billion KRW.
Currently, the reinforcement of aging facilities, deck reinstallation, and walking trail maintenance within the park have been completed, and the park is awaiting final inspection. Responding to visitors' requests, the park will reopen on the 14th with a trial operation.
After reopening, the county will continue to maintain the facilities for residents' convenience and safety, and next year, in connection with the 8th term county mayor’s campaign promises, plans to create creative playground facilities in the upper resting area of Yongso Wellbeing Park.
