Senko "Subsidiary Launches Essential Workplace Safety Management Service 'Smaple'"
Senco, a specialized company in electrochemical gas sensors, announced on the 6th that its subsidiary UNI has officially launched the industrial safety and health data management service ‘Sma플 (Smart My Safety Platform)’ developed in collaboration with the Korea Industrial Safety Association and LG Uplus.
UNI is a safety technology specialist company dedicated to reducing major accidents and creating a better workplace safety management environment. The SaaS-based subscription web service Sma플 offers various convenience features to easily perform the complex mandatory activities stipulated by the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and other related laws to ensure workplace safety compliance, under the slogan “Adding the value of innovation to safety and health.”
Along with response functions for the 13 mandatory items specified in the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, it provides key industrial safety and health management features such as ▲Risk Assessment ▲Safety and Health Education ▲Safety Inspections ▲Industrial Safety and Health Committee ▲Safety Inspections ▲Document Management ▲Safety and Health Bulletin Board.
The service was stabilized through a Closed Beta Test (CBT) in January and an Open Beta Test (OBT) in April. Next year, additional functions such as work management, subcontractor management, council meetings, and headquarters/branch management will be added to support subscribing companies in conducting broader safety management activities.
In particular, from 2024, the scope of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act will expand to include companies with fewer than 50 employees, and following the government-wide roadmap for reducing major accidents announced in November 2022, risk assessments under the Industrial Safety and Health Act will become mandatory. As a result, the Sma플 service is gaining attention. During the beta test phase alone, it secured over 8,900 subscribers, receiving strong responses from companies, and is expected to become an essential safety management service for workplaces required to comply with legal obligations.
UNI CEO Yeowookhyun said, “With increased awareness of workplace safety management and strict rulings such as 74% of major accident cases being sent to prosecution, the newly launched Sma플 will be a great help to small and medium-sized workplaces struggling to prepare for compliance with the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.” He added, “By providing a cloud service that requires no dedicated system construction or various integration costs, companies can solve cost burdens and management complexities while achieving workplace safety management, enjoying a triple benefit.”
