Jindo-gun Holds '2024 Major Work Plan and New Policy Report Meeting'
119 New Initiatives... Promoting the Creation of a Beautiful and Healthy Future Innovation in Jindo
Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that it held the ‘2024 Major Work Plan and New Policy Report Meeting.’
This report meeting reviewed the achievements and progress over the past year to realize the local government goal of the 8th elected administration, ‘Residents as Owners, A Better Jindo to Live In,’ and checked the major work plans and directions for next year’s administration.
The major work plans submitted this time included discovering 119 new policies and 271 ongoing projects to create a beautiful and healthy future innovative Jindo, reporting on priority contest projects and national treasury proposal projects, and sharing various opinions.

View original imageThe key achievements of this year’s administration include △securing the largest-ever contest project funds △strengthening support to increase farmers’ and fishermen’s income △promoting ‘365 Flowers Blooming Jindo’ to enhance the county’s brand image △establishing education, childbirth, and childcare infrastructure △improving various external evaluations and administrative innovation.
In particular, the contest projects secured 66 selections, the highest ever, with 101.2 billion KRW, allocated 31% of the budget to the agriculture and fisheries sector to fulfill campaign promises, opened the first pediatric department, and won the grand prize and excellence award at the Jeollanam-do Active Administration Best Practice Competition.
Furthermore, the county has designated 2024 as the inaugural year for creating a beautiful and healthy future innovative Jindo, setting priority directions such as △creating a beautiful Jindo △responding to climate change and fostering sustainable agriculture and fisheries △introducing 4th Industrial Revolution technologies △addressing regional extinction and population decline △developing culture, arts, and tourism △reflecting large-scale SOC projects in national plans.
Major new policy projects include △discovering new growth 4.0 and climate response future strategic projects △supporting time-based childcare jobs △supporting fire-affected residents of Jindo-gun △promoting the development of a dedicated Jindo-gun font, totaling 119 projects, sharing opinions to realize a dynamic administration that responds to change and the future.
Considering the government’s fiscal tightening policy, which is expected to significantly reduce dependent resources, the county plans to comprehensively review the appropriateness, feasibility, and expected effects of the newly discovered policies and finally reflect them in next year’s budget.
County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “New technologies such as climate change and the 4th Industrial Revolution are accelerating changes in the administrative environment,” and added, “In line with these environmental changes, each department head should also feel a sense of responsibility and do their best to create a ‘Residents as Owners, A Better Jindo to Live In’ that residents can feel through the newly discovered policies and national treasury proposal projects.”
Meanwhile, Jindo-gun plans to systematically manage priority pending projects through departmental self-evaluations and progress report meetings in the future.
