"Donating Again"... Challenge on the US Stage
‘Donation Angel’ Sung Yoo-jin is a warm-hearted golfer. She always donates for aspiring young players. This is because she received support from organizations such as the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, ING Life, and Yuwon Golf Foundation during her childhood, which allowed her to continue playing golf. She said, "I wanted to support players who are not very good at golf but still want to keep learning," adding with a smile, "It’s not a large amount, but I hope it helps even a little."

Sung Yoo-jin, who has always done good deeds, claimed a ‘lucky victory.’ She promised, "I will donate again this time." On the 5th, she benefited from the cancellation of the 4th round of the KLPGA Tour S-OIL Championship (total prize money 900 million won) held at Elysian Country Club (par 72, 6,717 yards) in Jeju City, Jeju Province. According to tournament rules, Sung Yoo-jin, who was leading after 3 rounds, was declared the winner with a score of 12-under-par 204. This is her second win of the season and third career victory, six months after the Doosan Match Play Championship in May, with a prize of 162 million won.
Sung Yoo-jin recorded a bogey with three putts on the 1st hole (par 5), and on the 4th hole (par 4), she made a double bogey after her second shot landed in the water. She then lost five strokes in the front nine with one birdie and three bogeys, falling out of contention for the win. However, the rain that had been falling since the start of the round turned into a heavy downpour, causing water to pool on the greens. After two suspensions at 11:45 a.m. and 2:09 p.m., the tournament committee decided to end the competition based on the 3rd round scores.

To pursue bigger dreams, she traveled to the U.S. during domestic tournaments to compete in the second stage qualifiers. She smiled and said, "I felt like I couldn’t challenge the U.S. now or never. Winning before the final qualifying gave me confidence."
