A tourist died after the glass broke while crossing a glass bridge installed at a tourist attraction in Indonesia.
According to the US Business Insider on the 2nd (local time), the accident occurred on the 25th of last month at a glass bridge installed in the Limpakuus Pine Forest in Banyumas, Central Java, Indonesia.
While a tourist was walking on the glass bridge, a glass panel broke and the tourist fell on the spot. Eddy Suranta Saitepu, chief of the Banyumas City Police Station, said in an interview with local media, "Four tourists were crossing the glass bridge when a glass panel broke."

View original imageAmong them, two held onto the handrails and did not fall, but the other two fell about 10 meters below. Of the two who fell, one survived with minor injuries, but the other died.
Agus Supriadi, head of the criminal investigation department of the Banyumas City Police, stated, "The construction company that installed the bridge used very thin glass," adding, "Since the bridge was installed, it has not been properly maintained and has not undergone safety inspections."
A video of the incident recorded over 2 million views on the social media platform TikTok. According to the video, a tourist is hanging from the bridge, and two people on the bridge are pulling him up.
The police authorities who investigated the problematic bridge found that the thickness of the glass was less than 2 cm. The police announced that the owner of the glass bridge where the accident occurred was charged with negligent homicide due to the tourist's death. The owner was reportedly detained afterward.
