‘The eldest brother’ Choi Kyung-ju takes a breather.
On the 4th (local time), he reduced one stroke in the second round of the PGA Tour Champions TimberTech Championship (total prize money $2.2 million) held at Broken Sound Old Course (Par 71, 6,943 yards) in Boca Raton, Florida, USA, and stood tied for 6th place (5-under 137). Padraig Harrington (Ireland) leads with 9-under 133, while Bernhard Langer (Germany) and David Toms (USA) are tied for 2nd place (8-under 134).
Choi Kyung-ju started tied for the lead, recording three birdies and two bogeys. He gained momentum with consecutive birdies on holes 5 and 6, but was abruptly halted by bogeys on holes 12 and 14. Fortunately, he reduced one stroke on the 16th hole (par 5), securing his place for the final third round. He is four strokes behind the leader, still in a position to aim for his second career win in two years since his first senior tour victory at the 2021 Pure Insurance Championship.
