Free Opening of Pohang Jukdo Market Public Parking Lot Expected to Relieve Citizen Inconvenience and Boost Consumption
Temporary 1-Hour Free Access from November 6 to Year-End
Chilseongcheon Parking Lot, Jukdo Fish Market, and Jukdo Market
Pohang City will open the Jukdo Market public parking lot to citizens free of charge to alleviate inconvenience caused by road closures in front of Jukdo Fish Market and to stimulate consumption.
The free opening period of the Jukdo Market public parking lot is from November 6 to December 31, and until the temporary lifting of the road closure.
The public parking lots open for free are the Jukdo Market Chilseongcheon Parking Lot, Jukdo Fish Market (Tower), and Jukdo Market Public Parking Lot. To prevent circulating and long-term parking, free parking is limited to one hour.
Following the ground subsidence on the main road (Haedong-ro) of Jukdo Fish Market in August, traffic control was implemented on some sections (from Jukdo Fish Market Samgeori to Yeongpo Hoe Town), causing a decrease in visitors and difficulties for merchants. In response, Pohang City decided to open the public parking lots free of charge to revitalize the market.
During the recent Chuseok peak season, from September 4 to October 3, Pohang also opened the Pohang Fish Market public parking lot and surrounding street parking lots free of charge to users to promote the seafood market.
