Naju City Anticipates Discovering Numerous Policies Next Year That Citizens Can Truly Experience
2024 New Policy Report Meeting Held
Priority Selection After Evaluation and Promotion for Inclusion in the Main Budget
Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 3rd that it recently held a 2024 New Policy Report Meeting for regional development and citizen happiness at the city hall's large conference room.
The New Policy Report Meeting is held annually with the goal of discovering policies that citizens can feel more directly and accelerating regional development through an analysis of the overall city administration policies of the current year before operating the city administration next year.
Next year, in response to the unprecedented decrease in tax revenue, deterioration of the real estate market, and high inflation leading to reduced finances, the focus was placed on discovering non-budget and small-budget policies.
Additionally, the policies included pure city policies excluding national and provincial subsidy projects, creative policies clearly distinguished from previously promoted projects, administrative practice improvements, and policies to resolve daily inconveniences. The report meeting, presided over by Mayor Yoon Byung-tae, presented and shared 59 policies out of a total of 78 through departmental self-evaluations.
Among these, projects that attracted attention included the ‘National Garden Tree Donation System Operation,’ where individuals and groups voluntarily donate trees at the initial stage of creating the Yeongsan River Ecological Garden, and the ‘Workation Support to Attract Stay-type Tourists’ project, which targets employees of companies from other regions and digital nomads by providing accommodations and shared offices to attract tourists.
Several policies that citizens can feel in daily life were also reported, such as the ‘Public Design Clinic Service,’ which provides customized consulting from the design stage to completion when installing various public facilities, and the ‘Roadside Rainwater Inlet Location Mark Installation,’ which installs location marks on curbstones next to roadside rainwater inlets to quickly identify and remove foreign substances during heavy rain.
The policies reported on this day will be prioritized through evaluations based on budget efficiency, citizen perception, creativity, and feasibility, and will be reflected and promoted in next year’s main budget.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae of Naju said, “Many policies that citizens can feel have been discovered in response to various administrative demands, so next year is highly anticipated,” and urged, “Please do your best to thoroughly review, revise, and supplement the discovered policies so that they can be established as leading policies of the 8th elected administration.”
