The event will take place at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 16th and 17th. It consists of three sessions covering overseas procurement market trends, the latest trends, strategies for entering the overseas healthcare industry market, and an introduction to procurement markets in key Southeast Asian countries.
The first session will feature the Asian Development Bank (ADB) presenting the current status of healthcare procurement and strategies for Korea's participation in healthcare procurement. The conference will be held under the theme of the latest trends in overseas procurement markets, including analysis of international bidding announcements in the healthcare sector over the five years from 2018 to 2022 and sharing cases of top-ranking countries in successful bids.
The second session will focus on strategies for entering the overseas healthcare industry market. It will begin with the Quebec Investment Corporation from Canada presenting opportunities and business proposals for entering the Canadian market, followed by Kim Manki, head of the Global Public Procurement Research Center at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), sharing cases of advanced countries’ contract awards (both failures and successes) and suggestions for the needs of Korean companies. The session will conclude with Seo Hwajeok, Executive Director of Siemens Korea, presenting cases of domestic healthcare companies entering overseas markets linked with global brands.
The final session will introduce the procurement markets of four major Southeast Asian countries?Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand?and present proposals for domestic healthcare companies to enter the Southeast Asian market. Southeast Asian speakers participating in the presentations will also meet companies directly on the 17th to provide consultation time to address questions about participating in overseas procurement markets.
Additionally, on the second day, there are plans to conduct pinpoint business consultations to allow companies to receive advice from overseas procurement experts or to facilitate transactions for desired procurement items from some participating countries.
