Busan City is accepting nominations for the ‘2023 Busan Metropolitan City Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Award’ candidates from the 3rd to November 17th.

View original imageThe Busan SME Award is given to outstanding small and medium-sized business owners in Busan who have accelerated technological innovation and led the local economy with advanced management systems and corporate culture.
Eligibility for candidates is based on Article 2 of the ‘Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises,’ requiring that as of the announcement date (the 3rd), the SME must have its headquarters and factory located in Busan, employ at least 10 regular employees, have been in business for over 3 years, and be actively engaged in SME management activities.
Nominations can be submitted by downloading and filling out the application (nomination) form from the Busan City website, then submitting it in person or by registered mail to the City Hall (Economic Policy Division) by the 17th, or by email.
The city will conduct document and on-site inspections of the nominated candidates, comprehensively evaluating their management capabilities, growth potential, employment stability, and social contribution, and will select approximately seven final awardees.
The evaluation criteria and scoring are as follows: ▲ Job creation (20 points) ▲ Corporate soundness (30 points) ▲ Business performance (15 points) ▲ Technology status (15 points) ▲ Economic and social contribution (20 points).
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in December, where the final recipients will be presented with trophies and certificates of excellence and will be honored as outstanding companies of Busan for three years.
Benefits for Busan’s outstanding companies include ▲ preferential support for Busan City SME operating and development funds and credit guarantee special support ▲ priority support for dispatch to overseas market development teams and participation in overseas exhibitions ▲ tax audit deferrals according to Article 11 of the Busan City Tax Audit Operation Rules ▲ free use of city public parking lots and Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
