The 6th Songpa Disabled Human Rights Film Festival Held
On the 7th at 1:30 PM, Songpa Disabled Rights Film Festival Held at Songpa District Office Auditorium Featuring 5 Short and Feature Films... A Platform for Communication Between Disabled and Non-Disabled People
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that the "6th Songpa Disability Human Rights Film Festival" will be held at 1:30 PM on the 7th in the large auditorium on the 4th floor of Songpa-gu Office.
Since 2018, the district has been hosting the "Songpa Disability Human Rights Film Festival" annually with the aim of improving residents' correct awareness of disability and human rights. It was prepared to raise interest in the human rights of people with disabilities by utilizing film as a popular medium.
The "6th Songpa Disability Human Rights Film Festival" will open with a congratulatory performance by participants in public jobs for people with disabilities. Under the theme "The Train Breaks Through the Darkness," five short and feature-length documentaries and films will be screened, viewing the difficulties and discriminatory elements faced by people with different types of disabilities from a human rights perspective.
At 2 PM on the 7th, the opening film "Lie" will be screened. "Lie" depicts a protagonist who cannot lie undergoing lie training and facing a public corporation employee in order to receive a favorable activity support grade, portraying the harsh reality of how difficult it is for people with disabilities to claim the "rights" granted to them.
Following this, director Yang Jun-seo, who produced the opening film "Lie" (winner of the Jury Award at the 21st Seoul Disability Human Rights Film Festival in 2023), will have a time to communicate with the audience.
Additionally, the films "My Life Is Mine," "Seonghyeon and Jeongmi’s Wise Independent Living (Documentary)," "Work-Related Relationships," and "Sprint" will be screened.
The film festival is open to everyone without separate reservations or applications, and sign language interpretation and audio description will be provided to ensure comfortable viewing for both people with and without disabilities.
