Yoon Attends the 58th National Women's Conference
"Women and Their Capabilities Must Be Greatly Utilized to Overcome Complex Crises and Achieve a New Leap"
President Yoon Suk-yeol stated on the 1st, "We will definitely invest finances in care and childcare to remove the factors that restrict women's participation in society."
President Yoon said this at the 58th National Women's Conference held at COEX in Seoul in the afternoon, adding, "Our women must continue to play a more active and leading role in our society," according to the presidential office.
President Yoon continued, "To overcome the complex crises we face and achieve a new leap forward, we must greatly utilize the capabilities of women," he emphasized.
Held under the theme "A Fair Republic of Korea, Together with Women," this event was organized by the Korean National Council of Women (54 member organizations, 5 million members) to encourage a gender-equal society and to wish for development toward a fairer Republic of Korea. President Yoon previously attended the 56th National Women's Conference held in November 2021 during his presidential campaign.

About 1,200 people attended the event, including Heo Myung, president of the Korean National Council of Women, presidents and members from metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, as well as political and government figures such as Kim Hyun-sook, Minister of Gender Equality and Family; Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party; Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party; Lee Man-hee, secretary-general of the People Power Party; and In Yo-han, chairman of the People Power Party Innovation Committee.
