'Incorporation of Gimpo City into Seoul'... Kim Dong-yeon says "Dividing the Land"
The ruling party is pushing forward a 'Mega City' plan that includes incorporating Gimpo City into Seoul, but Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized it as "utterly absurd."
While visiting China, Governor Kim said at a meeting with accompanying reporters on the 1st, "They have neglected the economy and people's livelihoods and divided the people, and now they are even dividing the territory of the country."
He pointed out that the ruling party's 'Mega City' plan is merely an election strategy. Governor Kim said, "The establishment of the Northern Gyeonggi Special Autonomous Province, which Gyeonggi Province is promoting, is an economic policy aimed at developing the entire Republic of Korea, whereas what the ruling party leader is talking about is purely political calculation," adding, "If this is proposed as an election strategy, it will be a self-defeating move."
