"Stores with the Same In-Store and Delivery Prices, All at a Glance on Baemin"
Pilot Introduction of Price Badges Matching Store Prices
Now, it will be easier to find stores on Baedal Minjok (hereafter Baemin) where the in-store sales price and the delivery order price are the same. Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin (CEO Lee Guk-hwan), announced on the 1st that they will pilot the 'Same Price as Store' badge.
The 'Same Price as Store' badge indicates stores where the delivery order price of a food menu is the same as the offline store price. According to the 'Delivery App Usage Survey' released by the Korea Consumer Agency in February this year, it was pointed out that some restaurants set different prices for the same menu between in-store sales and delivery, and there was a need for improvement as appropriate labeling was not provided.
Baemin empathizes with the industry's overall need to strengthen consumers' right to know and has introduced this badge as part of improving related labeling. The 'Same Price as Store' badge is designed to provide additional information for customers when ordering through the delivery app, further fulfilling consumers' right to know. Since consumers can check the store price information on the delivery app and place orders accordingly, it is expected to have a positive impact on the delivery order experience of the stores from the perspective of the merchants.
The 'Same Price as Store' badge can be freely applied for directly by merchants through the 'Baemin Self-Service' feature. Merchants wishing to attach the badge need to submit photos that verify the offline store prices they operate, such as menus displayed in the store or on each table, or order sheets showing prices. Based on the photos of the store price lists submitted by the merchants, if it is confirmed that the prices sold on the Baemin app are the same as the store prices, the badge will be attached.
The badge will be available for application by all merchants using Baemin services such as delivery, Baemin1 single delivery, budget delivery, and takeout starting from the 9th. The badge will be displayed on the app starting from the 14th, beginning in Guro-gu, Seoul. Baemin plans to enhance the related features and gradually expand the badge display areas.
