One Million Dollars Rained from the Sky... 4,000 People Picked It Up in Just One Hour
Promotion of Movie by Famous Czech Director and YouTuber
Distributing 1.35 Billion KRW from a Helicopter
A Czech YouTuber caused a sensation by dropping a bundle of cash worth 1 million dollars (about 1.35 billion won) from a helicopter. The event, planned to promote a movie, attracted around 4,000 people who scrambled to pick up the money that fell to the ground.
Kamil Bartoshek, a famous Czech director and broadcaster, posted a video on his social media showing cash being dropped from a helicopter.
The video titled ‘The first real MONEY RAIN in the world’ can be interpreted in Korean as ‘세계 최초의 진짜 돈 비’ or ‘세계 최초의 진짜 돈벼락’. As the title suggests, the video shows cash being scattered from a helicopter. The event took place in a small town near Prague, Czech Republic.
Kamil loaded 1 million dollars in cash into a container and boarded the helicopter. The helicopter ascended high into the sky and opened the container, releasing the cash like rain. Thousands of Kamil’s subscribers gathered below, frantically picking up the falling money. It is reported that the entire 1 million dollars was collected in less than an hour.
The original plan was for Kamil to award the 1 million dollars as a prize to one person who decoded a hidden code in his movie ‘One Man Show’ as part of the film’s promotion. A glass box containing the 1 million dollars was installed in the square, and anyone who solved the code could take the money. However, no one succeeded, so he decided to share the money with his fans.

Bartoshek reportedly did not announce the ‘money rain’ event in advance. He simply sent an email to his fans telling them to come to a designated location for an ‘exciting event.’ About 4,000 people gathered at the site and were unexpectedly showered with money.
Bartoshek stated, “We successfully dropped 1 million dollars without any injuries or fatalities.”
